Level 1
Actually this is not a level, but the tutorial. You can skip it, but don't do it. If you play through the entire tutorial you will start with a half filled superstar which normally starts empty. However if you come to the part where your superstar is available and then click "skip tutorial", you'll start level 2 with a superstar fully charged.
Level 2-7
Basically those levels aren't really interesting.. You can squeeze points out of them by letting the guys sit as long as possible and keep them happy by flirting, magazines or holding them in the air.
Level 8
This is were the fun starts. Your 4th customer will be an old lady that wants a haircut and nothing more. Don't give her that, but give her a hair wash instead. This will make sure she won't leave (she'll want her hair dried first but she will leave if she gets angry so keep giving her magazines). Leave here there till the end of the game, but placing every customer regardless of what they really want next to the old lady. Further in this level, you will get a second old lady which wants a wash, a haircut and the dryer. Give her the first two, but not the dryer. Now you will have 2 old ladies, 1 in the hair wash, 1 in the hair cut. Now place all customers you get first in the hair wash and then in the hair cut. This will get you lots of gossip bonus.
Level 9
Here your 2nd customer will be an old lady. Give the cut she wants, but leave her there. Again put all customers first next to her and then give them what they want. Do this until the second old lady comes in. She will want a hair cut, but give her a hair wash and leave her there. Now any following customers should be put in the hair wash first and then give them a hair cut. If they still don't leave, put them back in the hair wash. Again, this technique should give you lots of gossip bonus. Remember to keep the old ladies from leaving by giving them magazines. Keep the TV tuned in by clicking on the screen when the image gets scrambled.
Level 10
Your first customer will be a old lady, give her a hair wash and leave her there. Use the same routine as the previous levels and sit everyone first next to her. When the second old lady comes in, give her the haircut she wants and leave her there too. Again put all customers first in the hair wash and them give them all a cut. If you are lucky enough to get the super by the end of this round don't use it save it and use it about half way through 11 gave me enough to get ML10.
Level 11
Prom night, no old ladies here, but flirting is now worth $25 instead of $10. Not as lucrative as the old lady but still a lot of points here. You can probably guess what to do here by now.. leave the guys sit where they are as long as possible. Give the girls what they want because you need them happy when the leave. It shouldn't be too hard to get the expert goal here.
General Notes
Don't leave a fully charged superstar unused. Use it not too long after it's filled, preferable when there are unhappy customers. The star does not only make a girl or boy pretty and happy, any other customers present in the shop get a mood lift as well. Besides that, the sooner as the star is used, the sooner it can start filling again.
The only exception is level 10. An expert score in this game gives you a 2000 point bonus which is very high (it's higher than the expert goal itself). So getting expert score in each level is vital for ML10. In level 10 you can get well above the expert goal by abusing the old ladies, but level 11 doesn't have the same score-boosting capability, and you might lose more than you win if you try to abuse it. Because of this, a superstar saved from level 10 and used on level 11 might make the difference between reaching the expert score or not.
Also try to keep the television on when there is one. The customers mood decrease less fast when it's on.

For a service for a man or a woman: $60
For a older woman: $14
For prom boys and girls: $92 (not so sure)
Flirt between a man and a woman: $10 each
Flirt betweem a man and an old woman: $10 for the man and $5 for the old woman
Flirt between prom boy and girl: $25
Gossip between two women: $10 each
Gossip between a old woman and a woman: $10 for the woman and $80 for the old woman (last one not so sure)
Super makeover: $250 (plus the price for the service)
Fast speed nail color: $5
Nail color: $2

More Tips
Defintely play the tutorial on BsBB. When you start on level 2, your Superstar Makeover level is about half full. If you then do everything right along the way, you should be able to use the Superstar on Level 4, 6, 8, and 10 (but remember to save the last one for level 11, see above). And try to use it as soon as you can, so that it will start refilling right away
Don't underestimate how much extra money you can make off of the gossiping and flirting!
Hint: keep an eye on how much points you get for each action, some things don't make sense and can be exploited.
