Bespelled has been replaced by Bookworm since 2007-08-09.

The reason why it has been retired is probably this : "Bespelled on occasion has issues with the latest version of Sun Java. You can try refreshing the window. However, this game was designed to work with an older version of the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine that is only installed with Windows 2000. You may be able to obtain the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine and install it under Windows XP or Windows Vista, although Microsoft does not provide support for this process. The game is identical to bookworm, except for some graphics. Also the wordlist of bookworm is significantly larger but that's because bookworm allows for max. 10 letter words where bespelled has a max. of 8 letters.
