Scoring

Letter Categories

As with many word games, letters that are less common in English are dealt less frequently, but are worth more points. In Bookworm Adventures, letters are divided into bronze (most common), silver, and gold (most points).

Additionally

  • At the end, all scores are rounded down to the nearest whole point.
  • A 'Qu' tile counts as two tiles, a gold 'Q' and a bronze 'U'. Although you can normally only submit words of two letters or more, you can submit 'QUA', which is two tiles but three letters.
  • There are bonuses for defeating an enemy in 1, 2, or 3 words, and for "overkill" (scoring more points with a word than what is necessary to defeat the enemy), but I haven't worked out the math on these yet.
