Chicken Invaders 2 is slightly similar to the classic arcade game Space Invaders.

The game consists of unlimited rounds of ten levels each.

Tips and Strategies

Getting ML10 in this game mostly takes skill at not dying. the only tips I can give are:

EAT CHICKEN... it's a good source of protein!! The chicken legs that fall from the chickens you kill are counted toward extra lives at the rate of 100 legs per extra life. Plus they are worth points, 50pts each times which round you are on.

If our schools can say "No child left behind"(and yet we still have illiterates).. then I say "no chicken left behind"(occasionally one or two may slip by)

The meteor shower asteroids are not required to be shot, but they are worth points,50pts each times which round you are on. And occasionally you may get a weapons power-up from one of them.

On the grid levels, 2, 5, & 8, you can use guerrilla tactics to complete the level. For example; if the grid is moving from left to right, stay at the right hand side of the grid, so that your straight shots will just hit the lowest chicken in the right-most column. If you cannot complete the level before they get to the far right side of the screen, either go over them (they can't shoot up, but then again you can't shoot down) or under them (a little more dangerous as they can fire down) to get to the other side and continue as before but from the left.

If you have a slower computer, turn off high detail on the menu or start screen as this will make the motion smoother and the speed a little quicker. Turning off sound will also enhance speed.

I also find that turning off high detail, allows you to better see the eggs that are coming your way.

Weapons

How many shots it takes to kill a chicken is determined by the level you are on and what your weapon level is.

Weapon levels run from 1 to 9, with spread shot starting at 5.

If and when you die, your weapon level is cut in half, and rounded up if necessary. ie... level 9 becomes (4.5)5... level 8 becomes 4.... level 7 becomes (3.5)4 etc etc

Level 1

Level 1 is called First Contact. The number of chickens you face is determined by which time through the levels you are on. (first time 1 chicken, second time 2 chickens etc etc.)

Level 2

Level 2 is called Classic Invasion. on this level the chickens come from the top left and top right corners to fill a rectangular grid. The best way to start this level is from either the right (my preference) or left side, constantly shooting as they come in. With spread shot you can potentially kill half of the incoming chickens as they fill the grid.

Level 3

Level 3 is called Paratroopers. First you break their parachute, then they are free-range chickens, and can go wherever they want (including off-screen). Then you kill them. I suggest that you try not to free-range too many at once, as then they can run into you. It is not necessary to kill any or all of the chickens to pass this level. On the higher levels, where it is getting increasingly difficult to kill the foul fowls, try not killing any, or just a few, so that you can continue to the next level where the points are just as high, but the patterned chickens are easier to kill, because they are not "free-ranging".

Level 4

Level 4 is called Meteor Shower. Although you can just avoid the meteors and still pass the level, they are worth points. All meteors are worth 50 points each times the round you are on. You can also get power-up from the meteors.

Level 5

Level 5 is called Classic Invasion. Similar to level 2, this time they come from the top center of the screen to fill the grid. Pick a place in the middle and start shooting.

Level 6

Level 6 is called Hatching Chicks. (see level 3)

Level 7

Level 7 is called Asteroids. You start with one large asteroid, which as you shoot it, it becomes three medium asteroids. As you shoot these, they each become three small asteroids. You must destroy all of the asteroids to pass this level.

Level 8

Level 8 is called Classic Invasion. Similar to levels 2 & 5, this time they come from the bottom right and bottom left corners to fill the grid. I have found the best place to start this level is right of center to kill as many of the incoming from the bottom right corner as possible.

Level 9

Level 9 is called Just Passing Through. On this level the chickens come from the bottom left corner, run two concentrically smaller clockwise circuits then leave. It is not necessary to kill any or all of the chickens to pass this level. I suggest with straight shot beign near the top left corner, and shooting as they make the turn. With spread shot I would suggest near the bottom left corner, so that your shots will hit them as they are on the rise, and kill them as they make the turn. On the higher levels, where it is getting increasingly difficult to kill the foul fowls, this same location works still for the whole level. After they make the first turn, if they still live and you have avoided the eggs, from that same spot you can hit them as they come back to you and make their turn to the top of the screen.

Level 10

Level 10 is called Show 'Em Who's Boss. As with most games of this type, the BOSS is the hardest to kill. I try to not move any more than necessary, while keeping a steady stream of fire going. He will run into your shots. Watch out, he may dive bomb you. The higher the round, the faster he moves. He will get quite quick, you just have to be quicker.

After this the levels repeat, but the chickens are a little harder to kill each time.
