Tips to get a high score
- Don't bother playing the timed version. The way to get good points in this game is to play slowly, thinking out each move before you make it.
- To oversimplify things, the trick to getting lots of points is to finish with a Black Pearl Cluster or Black Pearl Flower.
- As you make Black Pearls, keep them corralled in a circle around a starflower in the lower-left corner.
- Wait until you have at least 10 starflowers before making a Black Pearl: 6 to make the Black Pearl, 1 for the corral, and 3 to make new starflowers.
Techniques for making starflowers
- First make three of them the "hard" way (by making triplets). You should try to do this as soon as possible, because it's easiest in the early levels where there are fewer colors.
- Get two starflowers adjacent to each other, and you can "starwalk", clicking on the pair in sequence to move them wherever you want on the board, bringing along colored tiles. Collect same-colored tiles around the third star to make additional starflowers, which will get dropped from the top of the board.
- When collecting same-color tiles around a starflower hub, make sure there aren't any additional tiles of that color nearby that could accidentally make a triplet, and ruin your ring.
Potential for Badges
- If you perfect your technique for quickly making starflowers, ML10 is very achievable.
- The LTP10/ML10 ratio is about 183 games, making it one of the easiest games for getting LTP badges.
- With high scores in excess of 1,636,860 possible, LTP10 is well within reach.
