Gameplay information

This game is similar to its predecessors in gameplay. However, this time it runs in Adobe Flash rather than ActiveX, so you need to use the spacebar to switch balls instead of the right mouse button. (The mouse wheel is supposed to work too but it has the side-effect of scrolling the browser window if it's too small.) Coins no longer fall from matched balls. Instead, sometimes a scarab will appear on the level which you must hit to set some coins free. The "tail piece" will also free multiple bonus items when destroyed, so you need to be quick to catch as many as possible. You don't get an extra life for 30 coins any more.

Powerups will appear if you make 3 matches in a row.

Levels

1. Luxor -> Memphis

  • Level 1: Standard level
  • Level 2: Standard level
  • Level 3: Standard level
  • Level 4: Push level

2. Memphis -> Tyre

  • Level 1: Standard level
  • Level 2: Standard level but with many small chains. Lots of treasure items for the taking.
  • Level 3: River level
  • Level 4: Standard level

In the "push" level all you have to do is make matches. No matter which side, just keep making them. You will win over time.

In the "river" level the objective is to clear the small chain at the top of the screen that is pushed by a scarab. Multiple chains will scroll across the middle of the level (the river) that block your shots. Lightning and bombs will help you the most in this level.

Getting ML10

To get ML10 you must replay levels to get more points. You can replay a level by dying or pausing the game and then choosing "Return to menu" - after that, continuing your game will take you back to the start of the level that you were on. The best level to do this is 2-2: you get many short chains, each with treasure items at its end. The number next to the scarab at the bottom left of the game window shows the number of chains remaining, so if this number gets close to zero, start being more careful and restart the level before finishing. If you accidentally finish the level you have a short window of time to press Pause or you'll move on to the next level.

Avoid the Slow, Stop and Reverse powerups because they will cause the newly entering chain to ram into the one in front of it, killing the tail piece and depriving you of precious treasure items. When you get close to the end of the level, avoid the Net powerup as well, as it may end up catching a Scorpion or Color Bomb that can clear the last remaining chain.

Normally you will get about 70,000 points per replay of level 2-2. When replaying Level 2-2 the faster you play the level the quicker you can rack up high score.
